Our school library media center provides students and staff access to a variety of resources including books, online databases, computer programs, robotics, puzzles, games, and much more. These resources support student learning and offer a variety of learning experiences. A full time certified librarian and a library assistant are available to assist students with selecting materials to best answer their questions, pique their interests, and grow as readers and thinkers.
Regular media classes offer students the opportunity to explore digital citizenship and other related topics. They use technology tools to explore their areas of interest, extend their knowledge, and to explore creative expression. Topics include computer coding, 3D printing, robotics, green screen technology, video production/editing, and more.
Another primary focus of media classes is to encourage student love of reading. Regular read-alouds are a great way to introduce students to new genres and authors. Students are taught how to and encouraged to find books of interest in the library collection.
